Milk’s Picks: 5 Biggest Takeaways From Wrestling Last Week (April 6th-April 13th)

This is the start of a hopefully long-term project where I can just write down 5 positive things every week, Obviously there is a lot of negatives this week, most of them surrounding Teddy Hart but for the sake of the article, we are going to ignore those!

1) The fucking god is back

Nick Gage and Jon Moxley staring each other down (Edit by JRH)

Nick Gage vs RSP was one of the best things I’ve seen in a very long time. I legitimately cried watching it. Nick Gage & RSP went above and beyond everyone’s expectations. Big shout out to RSP’s sick white gear too. Nick Gage ended the show brawling with Jon Moxley in a moment that had me jumping up and down repeatedly in excitement.

2) Women’s Wrestling is fucking awesome

Bianca Belair holding the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania (Edit by JRH)

Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks made history at this years WrestleMania by having an absolute banger in the main event, Raquel beat Io in a great match and Rhea Ripley looks like a badass, Outside of the WWE bubble we had Allie Kat’s real hot girl shit, Kennedi Copeland vs Sawyer Wreck kicking off the week strong at No Peace Underground & a certain someone stealing the whole weekend. Speaking of that someone.

3) Billie Starkz stole the weekend!

Even with Billie going 2-4 the whole weekend there wasn’t a match she was in that didn’t make her look like the future of women’s wrestling. The one match that not only lived up to the hype but exceeded it was Starkz vs Gary Jay. Those 2 did not hold back whatsoever. Gary Jay came out of this match looking like a killer and Billie came out of that match looking badass as hell. I beg you to go out of your way to check out IWTV’s Family Reunion Part 2 to watch this match.

4) Give Billy Dixon all of your money

A bloody Billy Dixon wrestling AJ Gray at Effy’s Big Gay Brunch

Billy Dixon and AJ Gray were booked for a Pup Collar match for Effy’s Big Gay Brunch and my initial reaction was that it was gonna be a very funny comedy match but oh my god was I wrong. At For The Culture (which was an amazing show please go out of your way to check it out) Billy Dixon attacked AJ Gray after his match with JTG and cut in my opinion one of the greatest promos of all time. And the match didn’t disappoint either. So if you’re someone with a lot of money please give it to Dixon because he deserves all of it.

5) The next big star of the independents??

A lot of people had a lot of matches this weekend and had great matches but I couldn’t stop thinking about one person in particular after they had a star-making performance at Bloodsport. That man was Yoya. I’ve been a fan of Yoya for a few months but even I wasn’t expecting him and Lio Rush to go as hard as they did. If there’s one person I want to see more of after this weekend it’s him. I highly recommend everyone check out their match at Bloodsport and to see more Yoya in general people check out Paradigm Pro on IWTV

MCW The House Always Wins Review

This weekend Melbourne City Wrestling ran their first event of 2023: MCW The House Always Wins! A night of wrestling action and… a lot of stuff? This is MCW’s first event since MCW 12 in November. The first thing I noticed watching this show is that the audio is significantly improved from MCW 12. Last show, the music overpowered the crowd and commentary. Crowd & commentary audio it was recorded in a Pringles can. The whole thing aspired to GCW level. Thank fuck that was fixed this time around. How is the show beyond the audio? Read on and find out!
