WWE NXT 2.0
October 12th, 2021
Orlando, FLA
Aired on USA Network
Report by Jesse Davis, Parts Unknown Press

We start with a video of Hit Row walking into the arena, B-Fab and Top Dolla say Ashante hasn’t answered their calls, a black van appears and they attack B-Fab and Top Dolla, Elektra puts B-Fab in the van, while they beat up Scott, and they all leave in the van, while Scott is all alone

MATCH 1: Tommaso Ciampa Vs Joe Gacy:

Ciampa and Gacy fight it out, Gacy stares at HARLAND~! In the crowd, smiling.  After a solid match, Gacy tries for the handstand, Ciampa dropkicks him, hits the Fairytale ending on Gacy for the win, good stuff from both of them.

WINNER: Tommaso Ciampa (10:47)

Harland attacks Ciampa after the match, he grabs Gacy by the throat, but Gacy rubs his face, and he lets go, Ciampa is confused by all of this.

Toxic Attraction come out for an in ring promo, they say they are coming for the titles and Mandy challenges Raquel for the title at Halloween Havoc, good stuff.

We got a vignette from a graveyard, saying they will bury the past so they can start over again, then the Halloween Havoc logo shows up, very interesting.

MATCH 2: Xyon Quinn Vs Malik Blade

Blade got some offense in, but Xyon killed him most of the match and won with a Bullhammer.

WINNER: Xyon Quinn (2:45)

Ciampa is backstage with McKenzie, GYV interrupt, talk trash about Ciampa, they call Bron Breakker a rookie, Bron shows up, gets all mad like a Steiner and wants to fight GYV, GYV back down because they aren’t dressed for a fight.

Isaiah is backstage with McKenzie and he is FIRED UP~! Santos has let the demons out of Scott, and he says he WILL take the North American Title to Smackdown.

MATCH 3: Ivy Nile (w/ Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, Hachiman, Malcolm Bivens and Roderick Strong) Vs Valentina Feroz:

Ivy Nile basically squashed her, she won with the Torture Rack, automatically a big fan of her now because of that, Ivy was impressive for what was such a short showing for her first match, she has potential though, she’s definitely one to watch for.

WINNER: Ivy Nile (2:43)

Malcolm Bivens and Diamond Mine cut a promo after the match, Bivens puts over each member, he screams out Roderick Strong, Roderick gets the mic until Ikeman Jiro comes out, Julius Creed cuts a promo, says he’s gotta earn the match, and he said he’s “always strapped” Looks like we have a match.

MATCH 4: Ikemen Jiro Vs Julius Creed (w/ Ivy Nile, Brutus Creed, Hachiman, Malcolm Bivens and Roderick Strong):

Julius beat Jiro clean, Diamond Mine beat him up afterwards, Kushida made the save, he stopped himself from punching Ivy Nile, Diamond Mine then jumped Kushida, Roddy hit his finish on Kushida, then they stood tall.

WINNER: Julius Creed (3:43)

Raquel cut a promo, she called herself the Queen of The Mountain, Jeff Jarrett? She accepted Mandy’s challenge, and it’s SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE THE DEAL, HELL YEAH!

Lashing Out with Lash Legend happened, she talked about the draft and made fun of Hit Row and Tony D’Angelo.

MATCH 5: Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner Vs Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland:

Von Wagner has some very basic gear here, but hey, I feel like he’ll get better through time. This was a good match overall, Wagner did pretty well here, so he’s getting there, Wagner won with a spinning Butterfly Suplex on Holland.

WINNER: Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner (12:42)

CHASE UNIVERSITY PROMO BABY! Andre Chase says that if Odyssey put his leg on the top rope, it would be more noticeable! That’s perfectly correct, Chase curses out some dude again and yells. Chase kicks out Brandon cause he’s fucking stupid! Top tier segment.

Big Tony D’Angelo promo putting over his big debut last week, talks about Lashing Out and there were some scheduling conflicts, and he said forget about it! He might have kidnapped that producer……

MATCH 6: Duke Hudson Vs Grayson Waller:

Duke is a Poker Gambler now, and Grayson just looks like a lovable douchebag.  Duke Hudson won by grabbing the tights and Waller is PISSED, looks like we have a feud brewing.

WINNER: Duke Hudson (2:39)

Legado cut a promo on Hit Row, hyping up tonight’s main event.

Imperium cut a promo in a vignette on MSK, vying for the NXT Tag Titles.

MATCH 7: Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta Vs Sarray and Amari Miller:

Persia Pirotta completely kicked ass, Indi hit her top rope elbow drop for the win, good way to get them over, poor Sarray though, thought she would kinda have a decent run, but she’s just kind of floundering at the moment.

WINNER: Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta (2:26)

Indi and Persia call out the tag champs, Io and Zoey come out, then so do Toxic Attraction, they all talk trash and then they brawl, Io and Zoey stand tall.

Grayson Waller is backstage, Cora Jade gives him a weird look, Grayson flirts with someone else, then Cameron Grimes shows up, and they are looking at dating apps. Funny segment.

We got a Solo Sikoa vignette

MATCH 8: NXT North American Title Match: Isaiah Scott Vs Santos Escobar (w/ Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza):

That was a good match, a few good nearfalls, some good sequences, Carmelo Hayes and Trick WIlliams attacked Wilde and Mendoza and helped Scott win the match, so the North American Title is “heading to Smackdown”, or so we thought.

WINNER: Still NXT North American Champion, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott (11:40)

Hayes and Williams celebrate with Scott, until Hayes attacks Scott, and HAYES HAS THE CONTRACT AND WE’RE DOING IT RIGHT NOW!

MAIN EVENT: NXT North American Title Match: Carmelo Hayes (w/ Trick Williams) Vs Isaiah Scott:

Carmelo going all the way here, Scott tried to fight back, but he couldn’t! Hayes wins with a top rope standing leg drop, and we have a new North American Champion! Good stuff to end tonight’s NXT.

WINNER: NEW NXT North American Champion, Carmelo Hayes (1:12)

Final thoughts: This was a good episode, Carmelo Hayes winning the title is a shocker, the continued trend of short matches to build people up continues which is nice, Von Wagner is getting used to everything and is slowly getting better, Toxic Attraction are definitely going big places, but I can see Gigi and Jacy winning, and Mandy losing, because that’s how it goes sometimes, and I like to call that booking method, the “Immortal” Way, plus, if this graveyard reveal is Dakota Kai, then Mandy probably will lose. That’s all we have for this week, until next time!

MCW The House Always Wins Review

This weekend Melbourne City Wrestling ran their first event of 2023: MCW The House Always Wins! A night of wrestling action and… a lot of stuff? This is MCW’s first event since MCW 12 in November. The first thing I noticed watching this show is that the audio is significantly improved from MCW 12. Last show, the music overpowered the crowd and commentary. Crowd & commentary audio it was recorded in a Pringles can. The whole thing aspired to GCW level. Thank fuck that was fixed this time around. How is the show beyond the audio? Read on and find out!
